Next we went to San Antonio. The two of us agreed that this was the most enjoyable of all the cities we visited in Texas. We took everyone's advice and made a point of visiting the Riverwalk. It was beautiful.
I would guess we walked a few miles there. The shopping was plentiful. We spent a few bucks on some touristy things - tshirts, mugs, and some confetti-filled eggs to bring back to our friends.
Before going on this vacation I had researched online for recommended restaurants that I might find vegan food. I had a quite a few choices for the San Antonio area and one in particular was right on the Riverwalk. We ate at the Zuni Grill. I ordered the fajitas without the meat or dairy and it was excellent. Of course, I had a Corona with it too! We stuffed ourselves! It's a good thing we were doing so much walking!

We chose to take the boat tour on the river. We heard a lot of interesting history of the river and the area, and discovered that we were just a short walk from the Alamo! How could we pass that up?
The Alamo was interesting. We listened to the 30 minute lecture on the historic events of the place and heard the whole story of how everyone had died there. Afterwards we toured the inside for a bit. My favorite part was the courtyard though. There was a center fountain and a covered walkway.
